04:19 pm - college. year 2. Hi friends of livejournal. i'm back I'm at Northcentral University in Minneapolis this year. and I love it!! I finally feel like i'm having that real college experience. You know how when you're a freshman, everyone tells you how much fun you're going to have and how many friends you'll make, and how much it will just be everything you ever dreamed of? well, i definitely didn't get that at Iowa SU my freshman year. Northcentral definitely feels like home already. I have great friends and an amazing RA. I'm really excited becuase I know that God has a lot in store for me, and a lot will happen in my short time here. My classes are pretty good this year too. I'm taking a few music classes: theory, piano, voice, choir.. that stuff. and that stuff is all super exciting. I tried out for Gospel choir, which would be amazing. but i won't find out if i made it for a few days. I'm taking a systematic theology class that reminds me a lot of Mr Schlich's class junior year. we're gonna talk about all the "ology's". I've got this class called spiritual formation, and i'm still not positive what its all about. we have to read a ton, and i think the overall goal is to develop much more personal and intimate relationships with God, especially through prayer. I've got a few other things that are requirements for first year students, those are ok. so, some of my new friends are: Amber, Lauranna, Becky (my RA) and all the other girls on my floor are super nice. Angel is from Taiwan! She's in my theology class, and i feel so bad for her. Imagine taking mr schlich's class in a foreign language! wow. i don't even want to think about it. well i like you all! have wonderful days. i'll try to keep you updated. in case you care ;) ames in Minneapolis! ps. i love living in minneapolis. 02:10 pm - i love music!!!!! music is my absolute favorite; i love listening; i love singing; i love playing the piano/keyboard; i love beating on my drums; and i love playing the five chords i know on my guitar; i love remembering that i used to be good at saxophone and thinking someday i'll do it again; i love thinking about my future career; i love it all!!! it makes me sooooooooooooooooo happy! God is amazing! I can't believe i actually get to do something i love so much for the rest of my life! wow!! when i seriously consider it, i'm amazed. i feel like belting out 'there can be miracles' with whitney hatfield! maybe she'll come tonight becuase it would be fun to sing with her! oh my! la la la la la la la. beautiful life. 06:41 pm - whats the deal? so i just am not so in to the things of the internet lately. but i'm pretty sure no one missed my updates. which is totally fine, that wasn't meant to make anyone feel bad for me! i'm just filling my time otherwise. works been kinda busy for me. i've got like 25-26 hours a week, which is nice for the pay check. i'd like to find another job for about 15 hours a week... that would be even nicer as combined pay checks. i want to buy a new computer before i head to minneapolis this fall. so i either need another job, or i'm gonna have to up my hours at the shoe carnival. marcus and heather applied. i got them both interviews, but the rest is up to them. ok, well i'm gonna go study for my history exam for like an hour. then i'm gonna call valerie. so until later. signed, the girl with the perpetually cluttered* bedroom who feels as though her life looks a lot like her room. *when i say cluttered, i mean knee deep in clothing/shoes/notebooks/book books/and any other random thing found in a bedroom (i.e. pillows, belts...) 09:09 am - ouch. my elbow! ok, so last night i was descending the family van, terri, after my sister's spring choir concert. as i turned to close the sliding door, my elbow experienced a massively painful collision with a little thing sticking out on the side of the door. so you know, my first thought was "ahhhhh, i hate hitting my funy bone" but about .00001 seconds later, i realized this was not a funny bone hurt. this was wayyyyy worse. still i figured the pain would wear off. well, at 10:30 when i was trying to sleep (early i know, but i live at home with early to bed people... what else is there to do?) any way. i couldn't sleep so i had to get up and take ibuprofen. finally i fell asleep, but this morning when i woke up, it still hurts. but of course, as some of you know (valerie and janelle)... i don't bruise. so the excrutiating pain i am in has no physical evidence. i told my mom though... so if it persists i might see a doc. i wonder what i did to it? well, at least my piano lesson got canceled today. that makes me feel a little better. ok, well i'm off to finish getting ready for class. goodbye. 05:59 pm i saw this really awesome sight today. it was this enormous cloud that looked like it stood up vertically. (in my opinion, most clouds look like they're 'laying down') andway. this massive cloud had dark gray streaks and bright white streaks running through it vertically. it was as if you could see the rain dumping out of it. and to top it off, there was also a rainbow in the middle/bottom of it. it was so amazing. i couldn't take my eyes off it. and the best part, the sky around it was soooooooooo blue, with a few bright white clouds and the sun was shining. it was amazing! 10:43 pm today was a long long day! i had class 8-10, practiced the piano til 11, lunch with michelle, class 12-2 (my last class was let out early becuase apparently we weren't paying attention anyway... gee what a surprise.) and then i worked 3-10:10. not a fun shift. we had to change all the sale signs. i don't really recommend retail! so i'm super tired now. and i'm gonna go shower then sleep. or maybe i'll shower in the morning. who knows. ps. good to know i am correctly stereotyped as prep/jock/cheerleader What's Your High School Stereotype? created with QuizFarm.com Current Mood: sleepy, and slightly hungry Current Music: sing me to heaven

11:02 am - wow! its happening! ok, so i'm still in the process, but it makes me so happy, that i have to post an update. my room is WELL on the way to being clean! i've hung up all the clothes that were on the floor that didn't need washed, and i have two laundry baskets and one large pop-up hamper full of laundry that does need to be washed. I put clean sheets and pillow cases on my bed, and i even made it (with pretty pillows and everything). so now, i just need to do about 4-5 loads of laundry, vacuum, and if i get super-inspired i will clean the clutter off my desk and book shelves! then i'm gonna move MY tv from the basement to my room, and I'm gonna keep my room clean! i can do it! i can i can! you'll have to keep me accountable! i can't live like i was! my room was seriously like 2 feet deep in clothing. i counted, and i only had 20 items hung up in my closet, and a few things folded in my armoir! so basically, 90% of my wardrobe was on my floor! wow. thats terrible. but i'm turning around, i'm mending my ways! shouts of victory can be heard! ok, i'm done. hahahaha. ;) Current Mood: productive and determined Current Music: thou dost lay me in the dust of death // david baker
